Preparing for Window Screen Replacement To measure for a new window screen, simply remove the existing one by pulling the tabs or disengaging any pins/latches. If you don't have an existing screen, measure the window frame's screen channel and subtract 1/8" from the length and width.

Measure the top, bottom, and sides of the window frame from outside to outside. Also measure the depth (frame thickness) to ensure a perfect fit.
